French, Lebanese academicians visit Beheshti Uni.

TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) – Two academic delegations, one from France and another from Lebanon, visited Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, in a bid to strengthen academic ties.

A delegation from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (Centre national de la recherche scientifique, CNRS) and an academic delegation from Lebanon visited Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran on Sunday in a bid to develop academic and scientific cooperation with Iranian science power houses.

The Lebanese academicians were headed by Professor Amine El Sahili who teaches mathematics at Lebanese University.

During the meeting, officials from Shahid Beheshti University agreed to establish a biotechnology laboratory in Lebanese University and cooperate in running joint research projects and to exchange professors and students.  

Dr. El Sahili (Faculty member in science department and deputy of inter-university relationships with Iranian universities) was accompanied by Dr. Adnan Seid Hussein (Head of the university), Dr. Mohammad Badwi Alshahal (Dean of social and humanities department) and Dr. Talal Etrisi (Faculty member of social and humanities department),

In another event, a group of French researchers from the CNRS visited the highly-prestigious Shahid Beheshti University of Tehran and mulled over ways to cooperate with the Iranian academic center.

The French delegation discussed the preliminaries for another major visit of a higher delegation from Centre national de la recherche scientifique to be made in October.

Founded in 1939, the CNRS is the largest governmental research organization in France and the largest fundamental science agency in Europe with a current personnel of 38,000 employees.
